I have a book written, and it’s ready to be published. Can you help me?
Absolutely! That’s what we do. Reach out to us using our Contact Form and tell us all about your project! A Proven Representative will reach out and tell you all about our services, our packages, and our proven process for book publishing. We can take care of just about any kind of book you can think of, from a children’s book, to a memoir, to a cookbook.
When you sign up for any of our Publishing Packages, you’ll be assigned your very own Publisher’s Assistant, who will guide you through all the services you’ve selected, and the steps we’ll take to get your manuscript in print. Keep in mind that we’re advocates of quality publishing, so we don’t want you to go to press without editing and other fundamentals. This is why it’s essential to discuss your book with a Publisher’s Assistant, rather than going to print blindly as you might with other companies.
I have an idea for a book, but I haven’t written it yet. What can you do for me?
We understand how hard it is to write a book from beginning to end. Many of us get stuck halfway through, while others find they’re not sure how to begin. We’ve established proven processes to pull great content out from under even the heaviest writer’s block. We can pair you with an Author Coach, who will help you decide on a direction for your book, an outline of topics, and then assign you a weekly writing topic, until you have a finished manuscript ready for editing. We also offer heavy editing and ghostwriting services to fill in the blanks. And then there’s our famous Publish-by-Phone™ process, where we make writing a book as easy as talking on the phone.
Can I mail in my manuscript?
Absolutely. If you don’t have an electronic version to send us, we can still accept your typed or handwritten manuscript. Through our Transcription service, we can convert any printed document to electronic text. If you don’t have regular access to a computer, we can mail you proofs and feedback forms for every new stage of the publishing process. We can even bill you by mail or by phone! Bear in mind that the Transcription service is an additional charge. You can mail us at the address provided on our Contact Us page.
Can I fax in my manuscript?
Why not? If you’ve selected our Transcription service, you can even FAX in your manuscript at the fax number provided on the Contact Us page.
Can I provide my own book cover?
You can, but keep in mind that the cover will need to conform to Proven Publishing high standards of quality and exact specifications. If your cover has been professionally designed (at least 300dpi, source files provided with layers, CMYK format, etc.), you can discuss options with your Representative. A way around these complications is to simply submit the desired image to us, to use as the foundation for a custom cover designed by our talented artists.
Will you design my book cover exactly as I ask?
At Proven Publishing, our goal is client satisfaction. When you select a custom cover design, we want you to be happy with your cover. But because an author’s personal tastes may not perfectly match those of the author’s intended market, our designers may recommend design concepts they know will “work,” which may differ slightly from the vision proposed by the author. In the end, we’ll defer to your final say. After all, it is YOUR book!
Why are your prices lower than everyone else?
Proven Publishing values corporate ethics. As one of a few small companies to successful leverage industry-baseline prices and offer them at minimal markup to the general public, we don’t make a lot of profit from our publishing packages. Our goal is to thrive on the volume of our client base, rather than individual client transaction size. To do so, we depend on (and reward) referrals from our clients.
Wow! You offer 84 different services! How do I know what to get?
Relax. That’s why we created our Publishing Packages. We’ve created a tiered system that starts with the Alpha Package, a baseline publishing service which gets your book into print and available for distribution AND converts your book into an eBook set up for digital distribution, along with a dozen other services, all for only $299. Purchasing those services separately would net a total price tag of over $1000! Don’t believe us? Take a look at our individual services and add up the ones you’ll get with the Genesis package. It’s the same way with all of our packages. We are committed to providing you REAL value through our packages. While you can certainly select freestanding services individually, we encourage clients to save money and keep things simply by selecting a package that meets their needs. If you are in need of additional services not covered by your package (e.g., if you need more than the 75 pages of complimentary editing offered in the Apex Package), you can simply add those services to your order. You can add services at any point in time.
I can’t afford your packages. Is there something cheaper?
We’re not in the business of overcharging our clients. In fact, we’re continuously working to ensure that our prices are the lowest in the business. While we’re sure you can find companies that offer one or two of our services for less, you won’t find anyone who can do everything we do for a lower price, especially not at our quality standards. After reviewing our offerings, many of our clients find that they need all the services offered in our higher tiered Publishing Packages. To break up the costs of these packages (some of which include the costs of setting up your own independent publishing company), we allow clients to pay us monthly installments rather than all at once. To keep things affordable for everyone, we can split up the payments for any package or order over $500.
Will my book be available in Barnes and Noble?
Yes. Through our distribution system, your book will be available in paperback form at Barnes and Noble and hundreds of other traditional booksellers, no matter which Package you choose. Customers will need to order your book at first, but repeat orders can result in your book being kept in stock at retail locations.
Will my book be available on Amazon?
Yes. Through our distribution system, your book will be available in paperback form at Amazon and several other online booksellers, no matter which Package you choose.
What if I ONLY want an eBook version?
We can do that, but we’d like to make the case for print books, if we can: If you’re going to put in all the work to get a book ready for readers (a beautiful cover, freshly-edited text, tons of technical details and registrations to make your title “official,” etc.), then why not create a print version as well? After all, it’s not like you’re going to rush a half-done eBook out, just because it’s an eBook, are you? Of course not! And since we’re the ones doing all of the technical work (“product development” if you will), then why not maximize your readership by offering both print and digital versions of your book?
Will you market my books for me?
As we’ve noted before, we’ll handle all of your “product development.” We’ll help get you from concept to completion…AND we’ll help you market your books after they’re in print. But we’re not going to market your books for you. Because, as good as we are, the one person who knows your book best is YOU. And you don’t just want to market that book, you want to market YOURSELF. You want to create a brand around you as an author, as an expert, or as a consultant. You want people identifying your books with you, and thus looking for the next book – whatever it is – from you. We’ll show you how to do that, but we simply can’t do it for you. We’ll provide you an unimaginable (and unparalleled) bevy of marketing services, ranging from promotional materials to press release distribution. But we’ll also offer you a personal Marketing Coach, to show you the ropes of book marketing, and to make sure that you know what it takes to be successful in this industry. Remember, our goal is to have you come back to us for your next book, and the best way to do that is by showing you how to make your FIRST book a bestseller. We’ll provide you all the tools, and we’ll show you how to use them. The rest is on you.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments via most major credit and debit cards, via Western Union and Moneygram, via PayPal, and via postal money order. We also accept wire transfers when necessary. We can take payments online (simply use our site’s shopping cart feature), or by phone, by email, by fax, or by mail. What types of books do you publish?
Everything! Whether it’s a memoir, poetry book, romance novel, self-help book, how-to guide, cookbook, urban lit novel, autobiography, anthology, screenplay, technical manual, historical nonfiction, children’s book, textbook, phonebook, or coloring book, we can do it. And we can do it WELL. While we reserve the right to turn down content that could be illegal or inflammatory, we’re pretty open-minded when it comes to content. Our staff has years of industry-leading experience, working on literally every genre of book named above, as well as a few others you’d probably never think of. We’ve even edited, designed and published a 3-inch tall handbook for a custom deck of playing cards. So whatever you’ve got it mind, throw it our way, and we’ll knock it out of the park. Will I be working with a real person?
Of course! In fact that’s why we personally email and call all of our clients to walk them through what we do, and what to expect when you sign on with us. Your Publisher’s Assistant will guide you through every step of the process, and is always on-call to answer your questions. When you select a Publishing Package that includes Marketing, you’ll have another live person with whom to discuss your ideas and implementation strategies. And if you’ve selected Author Coaching, you have yet another person to help you through the process. If you’re dying for a fourth person to talk to, you can always have a chat with our friendly staff in the billing department, who processes your orders with loving care.
Is it true you can turn my ideas into a book without me writing?
Our revolutionary Publish-by-Phone™ process has been hailed as a godsend by clients who found it nearly impossible to write a book given their circumstances. Some are too busy with work and family; others simply can’t overcome writer’s block. Our Publish-by-Phone™ process offers solutions for both situations, by making writing a book as easy as talking on the phone. When you sign up for this service (either as a standalone service or as part of a Package), a Proven Publish-by-Phone™ Representative creates a schedule according to which you’ll call in for a weekly, twice weekly, or even daily interview. This interview is based on our exclusive formula for converting author ideas into working topic outlines. The interview is then converted in manuscript text using another one of our exclusive formulas. And, in almost no time, you’ve got a finished manuscript, ready for editing!
